When you’re looking for an alternative portable option to your skateboard, or if you’re simply a newbie to the skate world in search of something that will give you a rush that’s been sorely missing from your daily life, then a pro scooter just might be what you’re looking for.
You see them zip past you on the streets more and more often and notice that they have fast become part of the park scene. Whether you refer to them as pro scooters, freestyle scooters, kick scooters or trick scooters, it’s all the same.
Envy scooters are just one of the many brands that we stock here in Queensland at SkateConnection.com.au. The Envy brand has taken off in the last decade as their innovative and high-quality scooters became an instant hit with a global community of riders. They achieved this by offering out of the box scooters designed by their progressively thinking team who continually seek to go further.
Having said that, Envy is also a favourite of riders everywhere because they make scooters accessible to all budgets and riding styles. Whether you are starting out or looking to upgrade, they are always worth checking out.
So you want to be just like your mates and pick up a scooter but aren’t really sure where to start. If you are a complete novice then it probably makes sense to spend low for now until you get to grips with it and not worry too much about the abuse it takes while you get up to speed on the skate park and can grind, spin and gap with little difficulty.
Once you are ready to upgrade, there are a few things to consider, such as the width of the deck and bars. Wider bars are typically better when it comes to street riding and give you better balance. Similarly, a wider is good for pulling off whips and more complicated tricks, seeing as the broader base gives you a greater platform to land on.
The tricks will sound familiar. Grinding involves sliding the base of the desk over a surface. Gapping is simply a jump from one ramp to another or wherever the opportunity arises. A barspin is where you spin the bars around 360 degrees while in mid-air. Whipping involves kicking the deck while mid-air then catching it with both feet when it comes back around. Performing manuals is that bit trickier and is where you ride on the back wheel only, or if you’ve upped your skills, a nose manual is where you ride on the front wheel only.
Here at StateConnection.com.au, you can find envy scooters for sale in our online store, or if you live in the Queensland area, in one of our 10 large showrooms. We’re different from other skate shops in the sense that our goal is to operate a one-stop resource for skaters that is both welcoming and doesn’t judge on the basis of experience or stature.
We want to promote skating and the best way to do this is to encourage younger riders along by making the industry much more accessible and family-friendly and bringing our collective years of skate experience combined with an abundance of knowledge to the masses. So drop in, drop us a line or place your order and we’ll set you right and have you skating in no time.
At Skate Connection you'll find knowledgeable skate experts, with the friendliest service in town, no matter what it is you're looking for! From skateboards to scooters, parts, decks and more!
