We work hard to live up to our position as the most varied provider of skateboarding merchandise in the country. Many of the top brands in the community trust us to sell their products, and those products are in excellent hands. At Skate Connection, we strive to cater to every kind of skater out there with either our catalogue or our advice. We know that there are different kinds of skaters out there with very different needs, and we care about meeting all those demographics more than your typical disinterested big chain seller. Whether your niche is vert, street, cruise, or park, we’re here to help with our range of decks and completes suitable for all environments.
Skateboarding has always been an identity-focused subculture. When you’re a skater, you stand out for your look, your style, your skills, and your willingness to do crazy stuff. That’s why we make it super easy to navigate our online store and quickly locate the clothing or other accessories that fit your style. You can filter parts and clothes out by colour or by brand; so, if you want to see what t-shirts we have available in bright red, you can! If you want to single out some nice DGK decks, it only takes a couple of clicks. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll most likely find it in our listings. You won’t find a friendlier resource for Australian skaters, guaranteed!
DGK has been around and kicking since 2002, founded by one of the most influential skaters in the game, Stevie Williams. Incidentally, DGK stands for Dirty Ghetto Kids, which is a name Stevie received for being from “the wrong side of the tracks” in his native Philadelphia. He decided to adopt and embrace that mockery and turn it into a standout leading brand that’s beloved by people of all backgrounds and social classes. While many styles and fads come and go in skateboarding, DGK has watched them all pass without being sucked in. That means you’ll find their art and fashion very tinged with nostalgia and an old school flair. Many of DGK’s designs are distinctly hyper realistic and composed of muted and smoother colours for a very industrial, real-world feel. The roots of the brand’s name aren’t forgotten, and plenty of their series and designs feature working-class stories and themes front and centre.
Dirty Ghetto Kids releases massive amounts of boards, parts, and apparel, which you can browse through in our catalogue. Aside from their own unique creative releases, you’ll find plenty of big brand collaboration as well! Names such as Adidas, Cup Noodles, Popeye, and G-Shock have been featured on the various kinds of decks that DGK sells. If you’re looking for apparel, you’ll find everything from hoodies, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, and t-shirts to jewellery, beanies, socks, and hats. If your interest is in DGK skateboards, you’ll find various street completes and professional decks alongside excellent quality bearings and grip tape.
If you have any enquiries concerning our stock or would like help with the technical side of skateboard decks, trucks, parts and completes, we welcome you to reach out! You can find our contact details under “Contact Us” at the bottom of this page.
